Senior Loan Officer
Solicit, negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of consumer loans. Spend more than 30% of the work day engaged in making business development calls either by phone or face-to-face meetings to retain existing customers and obtain new customers in order to lead the overall profitability of the Company. Coaches and guides loan officers with prospecting and generating leads to consistently meet/exceed the Department's production goals.
Qualifications include Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field and 5 years of experience in consumer lending in the banking/finance industry. Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in consumer loan underwriting activities and terminology. License as a sub-agent for Accident & Health, Credit Life and Life Insurance required or obtained within 90 days of employment. Current Driver's License – may be required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties/responsibilities. Proficient computer skills particularly in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Access. Knowledge of AS400 and Decision Pro, preferred. Effective organizational and time management skills. Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position. Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions; interpret & understand documents, policies & procedures, and government regulations; write reports and correspondence, and communicate effectively with customers and employees, to include informal presentations. Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and processing alternatives. Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit.
